Age In Place

The US Census says that 78.5% of seniors over the age of 75 were home owners in the second quarter of 2009. These home owners and their families can have every possibility of "Aging in Place" at home for the remainder of their lives.

With forethought it can be done

A large percentage of seniors and the aging population of "Baby Boomers" are concerned with the choices to be made regarding remaining in their present homes or moving in with relatives as they age. Some solutions can involve just simple and low cost changes in interior decoration or some inexpensive minor modifications for the do-it-yourselfer with the proper materials purchased at the home improvement stores.

To accomodate the ability to create an "Aging in Place" home many manufacturers, suppliers, and trades contractors are designing ways to provide this opportunity in their communities.

Adapting the living environment for "Aging in Place" involves home modifications which can make it safer, more comfortable, and increase the probability of remaining independent.

We at Daybreak Construction Specialties, Inc have instituted an "Age in Place" program. We meet with couples and individuals interested in staying in their present home or moving in with relatives. We conduct a full inspection of the home with safety, comfort and independent living as our guide lines. We then provide an in depth report and check list along with our report of suggested modifications based on the clients name and requirements.

There are many networks that provide much needed information and assistance about "Aging in Place." Some are recommended by AARP.

Daybreak Construction Specialties, Inc has the strategies and techniques for creating attractive, safe, and barrier-free living environments.
